Tikitano Beach Restaurant, New Golden Mile, Espepona/Marbella,
Spain. Probably one of the most successful operations undertaken
would have to be the beautiful Tikitano Beach Restaurant situated
on the 
new Golden Mile between Marbella and Estepona on Spain's
Costa del Sol. Part of the development of Torre Bermeja and
Cabo Bermejo, the projects completed by Grupo VTP España
Tikitano is a luxurious beachside restaurant which we designed
from scratch. Inheriting the constructed property, designed
by Melvin Villarroel, the task was on to convert the huge
site into an intimate evening restaurant and a functioning
'buzzing' lunchtime venue. Choosing burgundy and creams (Torre
Bermeja's colours) and touching on the 'Polynesian' influence
created by Villarroel, we created a trendy, chic but relaxing
room with beautiful terraces. The use of movable partitions,
wine armario, upholstered centre seating units and intimate
corner units looking out to sea, all helped to create that
'comfortable elegance'. A downstairs beach level, purpose
designed, banqueting suite for nearly 200 persons is due for
completion in 2004 making the venue one of the most sought
after on the coast.
A
team of international perfectionists to run the busy kitchens
and bi-lingual front of house staff were all hand-picked and,
from the day it opened in March 2003, despite the horrendous
weather, it was an instant success, In fact, unusually for
an operation of this kind, especially in its first year, Tikitano
Beach Restaurant will make an operating profit.
Although all projects that are undertaken are given the same care and attention and are all equally important, some have that little something extra and this has it. Primarily the location, in an exclusive bay near to the Five Star Las Dunas Hotel and Spa, the design and build of the property and the backing of a successful company all add special ingredients needed to create such a success. But, the true spirit is in the team of people, the management and staff, that have the vision to be the best there is.
Tikitano Beach Restaurant has that touch and is the perfect example of the words, 'tremendous success'.
